What can I expect?
First Step Counseling is a professional, clean, friendly, safe environment where staff members work hard to make you feel comfortable, like family.
How long will the program be?
Treatment is not time based. It depends on your progress.
What do I need to bring?
First Step Counseling is required to do an assessment with you in person. You will need:
– Photo I.D.
– Court Documents or paperwork
– Complete Driving Abstract -This is available at the front desk at Department of Licensing or online at www.dol.wa.gov. (You do NOT need to take a number if there is available staff at the front desk at DOL) The Driving Abstract will cost $13.00 to obtain. The Department of Licensing is open Tuesday-Saturday ONLY.
– Medical Insurance card (all insurance and Medicaid is accepted. Sliding fee scale is available. Preferred provider for Premera, Kaiser Permanente, First Choice.
How do I pay for Counseling?
First Step is able to accept cash, credit card, debit card or money order. The evaluation, Parenting Seminar , Alcohol & Other Drug Information School (ADIS) and/or DUI Victim’s Panel fee must be pre-paid and is NON-REFUNDABLE.
First Step responds to community needs by maintaining the belief that everyone has the ability to change, while understanding that no one chose to become addicted.
